
In the begening..
I’m a manager in a corporate job by day and a home cook by heart (co-pilot in the kitchen). Spice Squad was born in my kitchen, but the story starts much earlier, with the food I grew up on.
I was raised in Sri Lanka in a coastal town, surrounded by a big, loud family who expressed love through bold, hot curries and long, spice-filled meals.

Inspiration..
My parents and grandparents didn’t just cook they created moments. The aroma of roasted coriander, cumin, fennel, cinnamon in the morning, the sizzle of mustard seeds, the warmth of ginger tea... that was home.
Now, as a dad raising two little ones in Australia, I often found myself chasing those same flavours—but juggling work, family, and a busy life made it hard to recreate them without hours in the kitchen or a cupboard full of spice jars

Eureka moment
So I started experimenting. On weekends, after bedtime. Mixing, tweaking, tasting. Eventually, I landed on a blend that brought it all back: those rich, deep curry flavours I grew up with, captured in one pouch.
Friends and family started asking for more. They’d cook with it once and come back saying, “This tastes like real curry.” That’s when I knew I had something special. Not just a spice mix, but a way to bring the soul of home cooking to everyday kitchens.
